Glenton hits the small screen

08 Feb 2010
Scottish coach operator Glenton Holidays is launching a TV advertising campaign today as part of ‘ambitious plans’ for 2010.

News of the campaign comes as Glenton announced it took away record numbers in 2009, with bookings topping 40,000, compared with 30,000 in 2008.

Turnover rose to £7.5m from £5.5m.

Commercial director, Steve Turbill, said: ‘We have ambitious plans for further growth in 2010 so we need to tell more potential customers about our great value holidays.

‘Our competitors are not advertising on TV so we are confident we will grab the attention of new customers in untapped markets with our popular mascot and unbeatable deals.’

The 20-second animation shows the operator’s Scottie dog mascot, also called Glenton, sniffing out great deals.

It will be aired from today in the east region of Scotland, on shows such as Loose Women, Emmerdale, Midsomer Murders and This Morning.
